The part of
this congress given over to the archaeology of human burial is meant to be
interdisciplinary and diachronic (from
a certain point of view, particularly concerning the religious attitudes to
the dead,
the Middle Ages
can been stretched to cover the period from late Antiquity to the First World
War, this last
event marking a major rupture with previous practices and attitude) and hope to answer the following question:
What is the historical meaning behind these burial sites?
